Dreams of Beach Living

Good Morning Everyone, my family and I recently rented a condo in Gulf Shores Alabama for a quick getaway, and boy was it nice!  With the summer in full swing what better way to spend parts of it than on a beach. The atmosphere is breathtaking, and so peaceful that you almost forget your only a couple of hours away from home. With that being said, running on the hamster wheel we call life, we often times get caught up in routine and the thought of a Vacation seems so out of reach. I have found that living in Louisiana we have so many options of cheap quick getaways, Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi all have beaches!! So getaway as much as you can, see something new. I'm thinking retirement  will definitely be on a beach somewhere!! Have a fun and safe Summer everyone!!

Sultry Success!!!

 Joy's of motherhood, watching both of my babies graduate!! I spent my Memorial Day attending ceremonies promoting my children to the next levels of their educations. Sometimes I ask myself jf all of the things that you try to instill into your kids actually gets across to them, well I believe it has. As I grow in life with all of my endeavors and accomplishments, my family is my proudest accomplishment.  One of the things that define success to me is making sure my kids have  the proper tools to succeed and are prepared for what life has to offer them, to the best of my ability.

Hey Everyone, how was your memorial day spent? My holiday was spent just the way I like, with family. Sometimes I forget what an influence we have on our younger generation. I have many nieces and nephews who look up to me, and I believe it is our duty as aunts and uncles to stay close and teach our up and coming leaders to really be true to themselves and experience each moment whole hearted. Laugh, play and be kids. Have dreams and goals for themselves, respect their elders and to have faith. What better example to lead than to follow my own dreams and aspirations in life!!! One of my cousins recently told me that she was so happy to see that I am still into fashion because she remembered us as little girls, I would be the one creating my own styles!!! OMG, thanks for that cousin, I truly did not remember that!!  Do you guys remember some of the things you did as a child that you are presently doing?

The Outfit:  I chose comfort first and foremost today, but why leave out fashion?? This maxi dress I thought was awesome, it's trending this season, as well as the tie-dye print! I threw on the denim vest for the layered look. White accessories kept this look cool and easy going.

Color Splash

 The weekend's here, Yippee!!!  Unfortunately my weekend started with my daughter poking me in the eye and an emergency visit to the optometrist. Three prescriptions later I'm still smiling.LOL. I was told my right eyes upper left cornea was scraped off! OMG. But all is well, and I'll be hidden behind sunshades for awhile.On a lighter note, I went bold and bright today with this Splash of Color GREEN!  I always try to dress comfy, chic and airy if possible, because in New Orleans it's HOT!! I ran across this beautiful top in a local consignment store it was soo beautiful I had to have it, and of course it's' definitely a must with this seasons trends. I paired it with basic black shorts, and kept it casual with the addition of neutral colored sandals,purse,belt and sunshades. As we go into the Memorial Day holiday, what are some of your go to clothes, to remain fashionable but comfy!!

My Newly Found Flavor

Hey everyone, sorry I have been M.I.A but I have been working the 9-5.  I thought I would share with you all something that I initially took up for college credit, but found I really have a passion for. This past semester I took an Intro to Drawing class, I met the most interesting and unique people, and I learned something new about myself. I am an Artist!!! So with that being said I've planned on adding to my future schedules a hobby class. Something I've always wanted to do but for whatever reason I never did. Here are some of the pieces I've done over the last couple of months. Whatcha Think?

Hi-Low, Let's Go!!

T.G.I.F everyone it has been a long week for me and I am sooo glad it's over. I've been busy with final exams this week so forgive me for the delay in posting. Today I decided it would be my day to take it easy, go with the flow and just enjoy my time to myself. I started with breakfast at Waffle House, hit some local boutiques in search of good deals, and finished it off with a little bit of DVR!!

OK, so the outfit that I put together for my me day was simple, cute and sexy. The top is trending this season with the Hi-Low design, I paired it with black capri's, and I kept my accessories pretty simple. I opted for peeptoe maryjane style heels and a Michael Kors python shoulder bag. I know BOLD colors are big right now, but black and white will always be a classic combo! Whatcha Think??

Simply Chic with a little bit of Sassy

Mondays usually are a drag, but for me this Monday  is Date Day!!  As life goes on, often times we get complacent with the repetition of our daily lives. Most times we forget to slow it down and actually live!! So what me and the hubby decided to do was to implement Date Day. One day where we can rekindle, eat, drink, and tour the city.

When choosing my attire, being cute yet comfortable was key. I decided on a striped navy and white top, with feminine ruffles and puffed sleeves  along with an olive green pencil skirt to complete my look. Accessorizing with natural tones and animal prints brings texture and a sense of casual to this look. Multi-Tasking Mom

If you are like me than you are always looking for a new time management tool. Well today I have one for you!! So my 5 year old never runs out of energy, and I need more energy, so my multi-tasking idea of the day is BIKE RIDING. Trying to come up with new ideas to get in a workout and occupy my tiny tot have become a chore in it's own. Bike riding is my 2-for-1 for the day.What are some of your ideas to multi task?
